The Centre for Rational and Cognitive Therapies (CR&CT), in collaboration with the AEI, conducts REBT Primary and Advanced Certificate Practicum trainings. Participants who successfully complete the Primary and/or Advanced Practicum are recognized by the Albert Ellis Institute and may apply for an AEI certificate. Upon successful completion of the Primary and Advanced Practicum the participant may be eligible for continued studies at the Albert Ellis Institute. The Primary and Advanced certificates are prerequisites for entry into Associate Fellowship and Supervisory Training at AEI.
The Centre offers supervision to candidates at the Associate Fellowship, Fellowship and Supervisory levels of their training. The faculty have varied professional credentials and are qualified to provide supervision to all disciplines. Candidates are encouraged to contact the Centre faculty directly to discuss options for supervision. In addition to the Primary and Advanced Practicum the Centre provides specialized professional workshops including:
- Application of REBT in Primary Health Care
- Treatment of Addictions with Rational Emotive and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Practicum
- Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy Anger and Emotion Regulation Practicum
- Manualized Treatment of Addictions and Co-occurring Disorders Workshop

The professional programs offered at the Centre meet the requirements for continuing education credits (CEC) of several regulatory colleges and professional associations. The programs have been recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, College of Psychologists of Ontario and the College of Social Workers. Some training participants have qualified for funding through the Nursing Education Initiative administered by the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
