Participation in a therapeutic group can be an effective and affordable way of addressing some emotional and behavioural challenges. Group interventions offered at the Centre are structured with components that include education, psychotherapy and aspects of mutual aid. Group therapy may sound impersonal and intimidating. Research has provided evidence that participants benefit from the support of others, group members contributions, open group discussions and the knowledge that they are not alone.
Therapeutic Groups offered at the Centre for Rational and Cognitive Therapies include:
- Living without Substance (alcohol and drugs) – 10 weeks
- Rational Anxiety Management – 10 weeks
- Understanding and Overcoming Depression – 10 weeks
